How it Works

The Wearable Art Mandurah competition has five phases that run from the beginning of the year, until April the following year. Please click on each phase below to learn more, or check out the 2022 Competition Dates.

1. Enter the Competition
You’ve got to be in it to win it! Entering the competition is when you register your details, select your category and pay the entry fee

2. Pre-Selection Submission
Once entries close, submissions will open. You will send us photos and details of your garment, which our panel of judges will use to digitally pre-select the garments that make it through to Judging.

3. Judging
This is the chance for the judges to see your garments up-close, in-person and on a model. They will select the winners of the categories, and our creative team will also have a chance to see which garments will look great at Showcase and in the Exhibition!

4. Showcase and In the Fold Exhibition
Showcase is the highlight of the Wearable Art Mandurah calendar, where the finalists and other amazing garments are chosen to be worn in a performance spectacle! The winners will be announced at the Showcase Awards night, and Paper Category finalists will be displayed at the Alcoa Mandurah Art Gallery.

5. Wearable Art Mandurah Exhibition
Early the following year, a selection of garments will be chosen to go on display at Contemporary Art Spaces Mandurah, where the public will be able to inspect them up close over the life of the exhibition.
