Common Threads Wearable Art 2014
In 2014 Common Threads Wearable Art became bigger and better than ever, with submissions almost doubling from the previous year.
See below more detailed information about the competition.
The 2014 competition with the theme “DRIFT” received 50 submitted garments in 4 categories: Open Individual | Eco-wear | Youth | Body Art | Open Group | Under 18 | Highly Commended with five interstate artists participating.
Garment judging was done in March and garments were selected to take part in the Showcase, held during the Stretch Arts Festival. The Body Art judging was done on the day of the showcase.
The showcase took place at the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre on 4 May and became a ticketed event. Each garment was presented with professional hair and makeup. This Showcase saw the introduction of a new Artistic Director, Helen Duncan.
