Pop-Up Event at Murray Street Mall: La Mariposa

Apr 26, 2017 | Events, News

Wearable Art Mandurah has become like a butterfly emerging from a chrysalis. And a symbol of that chrysalis has been metamorphosing as artists around Australia worked on a special project, La Mariposa.

The collaborative artwork code named Whispers, was started by Deb Hiller (WA) before being handed on to Sue Sacchero (WA), then Tanya da Silver (NSW), Larissa Murdock (QLD), Stephanie Powell (NSW), Philomena Hali (NT) before making its way back to Louise Wells (WA) for the finishing touches.

Set for its grand reveal in the Murray St Mall, near Forrest Chase in the City on Thursday, April 26 the event will also reveal a sample of what’s to come at the 2017 Wearable Art Mandurah Showcase on Saturday and Sunday June 10 - 11. Mini performances will begin at 11.50am preparing for a very public reveal of a collaborative artwork that has spent six months travelling around Australia.
