2022 Competition Dates

After 11 years of growing this fabulous competition and professional development program, our much-loved Wearable Art Mandurah competition and events will no longer continue.

Friday 7 January – Entries Open

This is your opportunity to register for the competition, select your category and pay the entry fee.

Thursday 31 March – Entries Close, Submissions Open

Once entries close, you will have 8 weeks to complete your garment and submit photos for Pre-Selection.

Friday 27 May 12pm AWST – Submissions Close, Pre-Selection Commences (Avant Garde, Paper, Tertiary Pairing and Conceptual Categories)

Friday 17 June 12pm AWST – Submissions Close, Pre-Selection Commences (Youth and Tertiary Categories)

Your submission will then be sent to an independent panel of judges, who will decide on who progresses to the Judging Event.

Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 July – Judging

Judging is the event at which your garment will be professionally modelled and styled, and presented to the Judges.

Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 October – Showcase and In the Fold Exhibition

Showcase and In the Fold is the highlight of the Wearable Art Mandurah calendar. In the Fold is a presentation of the Paper Category, and Showcase is a performance spectacle of garments from the other categories.

February 2023 – Wearable Art Mandurah Exhibition

Held at CASM, the Exhibition is the final presentation of the Wearable Art Mandurah garments, allowing members of the public to see the garments up close in the early months of 2023.
